Olive's Collar

Olive’s Collar is a very simple and practical neck warmer for kids and is the perfect alternative to a scarf. The neck warmer is worked in the round from the top down using 1 strand of Merino + 1 strand of either Soft Silk Mohair or Compatible Cashmere held together. Front and back are shaped with short rows.

Sizes: 6-12 (12-24) months // 2-4 (4-8) years
Yarn: 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Merino (250 m [273 yd] / 50 g [1.8 oz]), fingering-weight yarn, either 1 ball or approx. 12 (15) // 19 (24) g leftover yarn + 1 strand of either Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (225 m [246 yd] / 25 g [0.9 oz]), lace-weight yarn, either 1 ball or approx. 12 (15) // 19 (24) g leftover yarn or Knitting for Olive Compatible Cashmere (150 m [164 yd] / 25 g [0.9 oz]), lace-weight yarn, either 1 ball or approx. 12 (14) // 15 (18) g leftover yarn. Sample is in Merino + Soft Silk Mohair in Pearl Gray colorway
Needles: 3.5 mm / US4 circular and double-pointed needles, or in size to obtain gauge
Gauge (after blocking): 23 sts and 34 rows = 10 cm [4”] in st st with 3.5 mm / US4 needles
